Volunteers

History
Since our beginning in 1989, The Cordelia Knott Wellness Foundation has been staffed and operated almost exclusively by volunteers. In 2006, volunteers contributed over 8,000 hours. Volunteer opportunities vary and offer all who would like to help a chance to become involved. Our volunteers help up to 4 hours each week or are available for special projects throughout the year.

Volunteer Opportunities

Shop on Main Appearance Center

Margie Espinoza
Volunteer

Our shop was designed to help those undergoing cancer treatment; offering holistic products and appearnace items, as well as gift items for sale. Volunteers need to be friendly, dependable and enjoy working with others. If you love retail, have a flair for style, and the desire to help cancer patients, our unique retail boutique is a great way to give back. Proceeds from Irene's Shop on Main support our programs and services.

Our goal to make current information easily available to patients and the community. Library volunteers are outgoing and friendly people who answer questions, assist people in finding books and materials, and help assist with Internet access. In addition, our library volunteers check material in and out, cataloge, organize, and ensure that the research needs of clients are met.

"Why do I volunteer? Why does anyone volunteer long hours for no pay? Because it feels good. Rewards are not always about material things."

" One of the realizations I had during breast cancer treatment and recovery is that we are all finite, so we better conduct our lives accordingly. Give more, take less. It became easier to be a better person."

Some of our long time cherished volunteers!
